Fume Cupboard Controllers

Fume Cupboard Controllers

Fume cupboard controllers allow the operator to manage their laboratory fume cupboards with ease. Fully compliant with ASNZS2243.8 (2014)

Aircare provides two types of fume cupboard controllers to meet the needs of any modern laboratory. These are the EcoAir III (VAV) controller, and the Constant Air Volume (CAV) controller.

EcoAir® (VAV) fume cupboard controller

A fume cupboard with an EcoAir® III Controller is a variable air volume (VAV) system. The Controller monitors the sash position and continually adjusts the fan speed to maintain a constant face velocity as the sash height changes.2 The EcoAir® III Controller thereby saves energy and improves HVAC efficiency by exhausting less conditioned air from the laboratory

Besides automatically adjusting fan speed to sash height, EcoAir® III also responds to a drop in airflow by ramping up its fan speed. Typical sources of a transient drop in air supply are doors or windows being opened in the laboratory space, or multiple fume cupboards being turned on across the room. Note that the EcoAir® III Controller is designed to ensure safe laboratory conditions and is fully in compliance with AS/NZS 2243.8 (2014).

Constant Air Volume (CAV) fume cupboard controller

The Advanced Air® Fixed Volume (CAV) Controller provides State-of the-art fume cupboard management: A remarkable capability of the Advanced Air® Fixed Volume Controller is that it can manage as many as four separate fume cupboards if the four use a single exhaust manifold.

The Controller monitors air flow, temperature and electrical faults to provide a safe working environment for the user. The backlit LED control panel display is designed to be easy to use.
